The Evolution of a Movement can be characterized by distinct phases.

1. The Core Concept

A dominant personality or coaches propose a new and transcendent idea offering a cure for disconnected individuals.

So here we are. They’re getting ready to challenge the establishment in Australia. Pressure is mounting. Smoke is rising from the out-houses. An isolated player, naked, anxious, the slogan POSITIVE INTENT smeared across his chest as a symbol, has stumbled into view and is being led away under a blanket towards an inconclusive loan stint elsewhere.

Do you ever miss the beginning, when everything was fresh? The initial phase, of pure instinct.

2. Initial Adoration

Team architects offer a new start, hope for a future, love, salvation among a group with shared faith in the philosophy.

How did it feel initially? Players celebrating basking in glory. Tattoos. Strength. Determination. Elite male wellness energy. Admittedly, The squad insist it’s not a real term, which is funny since it’s not recognized, what did we see?

Or rather, the sport in England is closed, a group, a private event, a closed world with a long history of ceremonial past supporting it. This has always been a place where power and access are hoarded. It’s the British pastime of the British, the original sports washers.
