Vehicles in German Town Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Police reported they were contacted by a resident who noticed a vehicle in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Approximately 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a release.

Law enforcement state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.

The liquid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Officers then found multiple other vandalized cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement state initial examinations suggest the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no lead as to its source; officials are presently not aware of any harm in association with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have requested to the public for details.

A high-ranking representative commented the incident made him stunned and had to be addressed rapidly.

"This event hits the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the death of nine victims by a gunman targeting residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
